Child Dental (CDBS) – Kallangur Dentists
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) provides basic dental services to children aged between 2 and 17 years.
Dental services are capped at $1000 over 2 consecutive calendar years.
The 2 year cap period starts when a child or teenager first gets an eligible dental service.
- Dental services include:
- examinations
- X-rays
cleaning
- fissure sealing
fillings
- root canals
- extractions, and
- partial dentures
The CDBS doesn’t cover orthodontic, cosmetic dental work, or dental services provided in hospital.
Children First Dental Check-up
Esteem Dental Smiles recommend to start dental checkups for your little munchkins as early as 1 year old. This helps them to get familiarized with the dentist and an early start to their oral care. Your kid will be greeted by our friendly and caring staff. We try to make these visits as fun as possible so that they feel welcome and this lays the foundation for healthy teeth and a healthy life.
We recommend to make these appointments in the morning as they are well rested and more accommodating. This also may not conflict with their nap and meal times.
Also after the first appointment, we recommend follow up recall appointments for every six months to monitor their oral health and development. This also gives us the opportunity to detect any oral problems early.
